The best form of trouble shooting is to prevent problems before they start. Encourage all users to make backups of their files regularly. The most important ones are the data files 2LAT, 2LATUSR etc since there are many copies of the others on other discs and they can be copied easily. Simply dragging the data files onto a separate disc is the best idea as well as periodic backups to the main system.
Recent modifications are likely to have resulted in some unforseen problems so try to test and use the program thoroughly early in the year and report any problems to IL.
There are several different types of things which can go wrong
1. Discfaults
2. Program bugs which are irritating but not catastrophic
3. Program bugs which cause a complete crash
4. Program bugs which although the program works make it do things which were not intended by the programmer.
5. Faults in data files which may not be immediately apparent.
